Organizing a press meet in Kathmandu on Sunday, Bijay Bahadur Shrestha, director of the Soaltee Hotel, informed that the tournament is being organized to promote and develop the sport in the country.
The tournament will be played over 18 holes under stable ford, ¾ handicaps with maximum permissible handicap of 18 for men and 24 for women.
However, members of RNGC will only get chances to feature in the tournament as 100 golfers will vie for the title.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners-up in both men's and women's sections. Prizes will also be distributed for the best gross, senior winner, closest to the pin, longest drive, most birdies, best sportsman and hole in one categories.
Meanwhile, Upaul Majumdar, general manager of Soaltee Hotel, said that the tournament will also spread the message that everything is on the right track as the country after the devastating earthquake last year.
Nepal SBI Bank is the title sponsor of the tournament, while Toyata Motors is sponsoring the event.
Anukool Bhatnagar, managing director of Nepal SBI, said that the bank has been dedicated to support various sports events, including golf in the country.
