‘Slow implementation of constitution’ irks Dahal

KATHMANDU, July 25: Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the political leadership failed to implement the fundamental rights ensured by the constitution.

At the 'Rising Nepal Summit' organized on the 10th anniversary of www.nepalkhabar.com today, Prachanda said that the time has come for making amendments in the constitution.


He argued that the exodus of youths for foreign jobs at a time when we are sharing good indicators of the economy and imports of foodstuffs worth billions, which Nepal used to export in the past, is a serious matter.


The former Prime Minister viewed that maintaining good governance in the country was a major challenge at present, adding that corruption has fuelled the spread of critical narratives. 


He said his party was not against the private sector, but said only liberalism would not provide justice to the citizens. 


Likewise, Nepali Congress leader Dr Minendra Rijal said that the human development indices have notably improved in the post-1990s and suggested that all political forces should minutely analyze the reasons behind public disappointment.
