Shutdown for eighth consecutive day demanding undivided Nawalparasi

PARASI, Aug 17: Locals west from Dauune of Nawalparasi have continued shutdown on Monday, for the eighth consecutive day, demanding a unified Nawalparasi.

Markets, financial and educational institutions, transport services have remained completely closed in the district due to the agitation led by the Unified Nawalparasi Struggle Committee.



Ram Bhawan Yadav of the Struggle Committee said that they would continue the agitation until the demand of an integrated Nawalparasi is addressed. Locals west from Dauune area have been agitated against the splitting of Nawalparasi in the proposed delineation of federal states.

Meanwhile, normal life in Nawalparasi district has been affected due to the protests by Tharuhat Struggle Committee and Madhesi Alliance.
