KATHMANDU, April 1: The government has appointed Engineer Sagar Shrestha as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Rastriya Prasaran Grid Company Limited for a 4-year term.
The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation appointed him under Rule 36 (1) of the Rastriya Prasaran Grid Company Limited Regulations, 2072 BS (including the fifth amendment).

The board of directors, led by Energy Ministry Secretary Suresh Acharya, appointed Shrestha. He previously served as the head of Janakpur Engineering Campus.
Engineer Shrestha has experience in the energy sector. He completed his postgraduate studies at the prestigious IIT Roorkee University in India. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nepal Engineering Council and as a committee member of the Nepal Engineers' Association. He is a resident of Dapcha, Namobuddha Municipality-7, Kavrepalanchowk.
Out of 12 applicants for the CEO position, the board shortlisted seven candidates. The first-round selection included Sagar Shrestha, Rohini Paudel, Kedar Raj Silwal, Jitendra Chaudhary, Mahendra Paudel, Raji Bhandari, and Roshan Agrawal.
The board of directors appointed Shrestha as the CEO based on his total score, which included the candidate's educational qualifications, work experience, business plan, presentation, and interview.
