KATHMANDU, May 2: United Insurance Company (Nepal) Ltd has appointed Upasana Poudel as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the company. Poudel has become the first woman to lead a Nepali insurance company.
Poudel in her early 30s is also the youngest to hold the highest position in the country’s insurance sector. Earlier, Poudel was working as the officiating CEO of the company.

Poudel has been promoted to the position for the next four years. An MBA graduate from Delhi University, India, Poudel holds around a decade of experience in the insurance sector.
