Two players -- Brian Fawcett and Rekha Ghimire -- were tied at three-under 69, and Fawcett finished runner-up on the countback.

Altogether 36 players had participated in the tournament sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. President of Gokarna Golf Club, Suhrid Ghimire, gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament played under strokeplay format with full handicap.
After the third edition, Sonam Ongdi leads the club championship leader-board with 112 points. Aang Dendi Sherpa, Brian Fawcett and TG Shrestha are tied for the second place. Ang Dorjee Sherpa, Rekha Ghimire and Mahesh Bikram Karki are tied for fifth with 60 points.
Ten medal rounds will be played till the month of October and the top 30 players will then compete over two rounds for the club championship in November and December.
Gurung wins at RNGC
Ganga Bahadur Gurung won the Eighth Ballantine"s Monthly Medal Golf Tournament at the Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC) on Saturday. Gurung scored 66 to finish one stroke ahead of Mani Lal Thapa. Neeraj SJB Rana finished the tournament in the third position with a score of 68.
Rana claimed the best gross title for a gross score of 74.
Altogether 30 golfers had participated in the tournament played under strokeplay format with full handicap.
After the completion of the eighth monthly medal tournament, Gurung leads the overall championship with 200 points while Thapa is in the second spot with 180 points.
