During a meeting with the president at Shital Niwas, Nembang told the president that the constitution making process is moving ahead on war footing and will not halt despite the apex court's verdict. The SC on Friday ordered the CA, the government and concerned political parties not to implement the 16-point political deal. And the apex court also told the political leadership not to promulgate the new constitution without finalizing the delineation and nomenclature of the federal provinces.
President Yadav had invited CA chairman to discuss the latest developments after the apex court's order.
During the meeting, Yadav stressed on maintaining harmonious relations between the judiciary, the executive and the legislature. However, Nembang urged Yadav to suggest to SC to exercise judicial restraint while issuing any order on political issues.
"The judiciary, the legislature and the executive have to respect each other's role," Nembang told reporters after the meeting. "The SC should have given the CA a chance to defend itself before issuing such an order."
Stating that constitution drafting process is moving ahead as scheduled, Nembang said that a new constitution will be promulgated at the earliest. He also hailed the 16-point deal, saying the political understanding between the four major political forces gave momentum to the constitution writing process.
