KATHMANDU, March 29: The Supreme Court has sought file relating to appointments of judges at the High-Court.
A single bench of Judge Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai on Wednesday issued an order after the hearing on a writ petition filed by Deputy Attorney General, Durga Bandhu Pokharel. He had argued that attention was not paid to appoint judges on the basis of seniority and less numbers of attorneys were appointed at High-Courts.
Pokharel had filed the writ petition on Tuesday naming Judicial Council as defendant. The Judicial Council on January 12 had appointed 80 judges at High Courts. Of them, there was representation of only one attorney. RSS
