SC orders RSP lawmaker to appear in court within three days

The Supreme Court (SC) ordered Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Tika Sangroula (Jwala) to appear in court within three days and provide a statement in a contempt of court case.

KATHMANDU, April 14: The Supreme Court (SC) ordered Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Tika Sangroula (Jwala) to appear in court within three days and provide a statement in a contempt of court case.


A division bench of justices Hari Phuyal and Sharanga Subedi instructed Sangroula to appear in the court and also issued a show cause order.

On April 4, the High Court bench of Tulsipur and Butwal ordered the detention of Rabi Lamichhane for further investigation. She posted comments on social media in contempt of court, defying the court's order.


She wrote, "When the justices become a party's worker, this is bound to happen.”


In response, Pranjal KC filed a contempt petition on April 9.
