RSP Joint General Secretary Acharya withdraws name from PR list

Acharya formally pulled out from the PR list on Sunday. He had been ranked first under the Khas-Arya category in the proportional list submitted by the RSP to the Election Commission.

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Bipin Kumar Acharya, joint general secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has withdrawn his name from the party’s proportional representation (PR) list.



Acharya formally pulled out from the PR list on Sunday. He had been ranked first under the Khas-Arya category in the proportional list submitted by the RSP to the Election Commission.

With Acharya’s withdrawal, the number of candidates who have removed their names from the RSP’s closed proportional list has reached 13.


Following the decision, Acharya announced that he will instead contest the upcoming election through the direct (first-past-the-post) system.
