Rs 563,512 in aid of late Bhomjan’s family

KATHMANDU, June 7: Great Himalayan Cricket Academy on Sunday has provided financial support to the family of the late Suman Bhomjan, a sports journalist working for Gorkhapatra national daily who was killed in the April 25 earthquake. He died after his rented house in Kathmandu collapsed under the jolts of the earthquake.

The Sinamangal-based academy supported late Bhomjan's family with Rs 20,000 through the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF). Operator of the academy Sudeep Sharma and Tejendra Rajbhandari handed over the amount to NSJF President Ajay Phuyal.Likewise, Nepal Golf Association (NGA) and Sahara UK founding president Nabin Gurung also supported late Bhomjan's family with financial assistance.

NGA provided Rs 25,000 through NSJF while Gurung, who is based in the United Kingdom, provided Rs 20,000.

NSJF has formed a five-member committee under its general secretary Mahesh Acharya to help the late journalist's with financial assistance. A total of Rs 563,512 has been deposited in the committee so far.

Late Bhomjan was also the founding president of NSJF Makwanpur Coordination Committee.
