According to a press statement issued by Embassy of Finland on Thursday, Finland´s Charge d´Affaires a.i. to Nepal Mr Kari Leppanen signed an agreement to this effect with NGO Federation of Nepal. [break]
"The project will be implemented in close coordination with the concerned government agencies and stakeholders. The total budget of the project is Rs 18,184,254," said the statement.
The statement said that the NGO Federation of Nepal will implement the project between July 2012 and July 2015. The project aims to increase access of people to basic services and entitlements by improving governance and management of NGOs/CSOs.
The NGO Federation will collaborate with SWC and NPC at central level and DDCs and VDCs at local levels to implement the project.
The project will be implemented in seven districts: Parbat, Baglung, Kaski, Bhaktapur, Kavre, Dailekh and Doti, covering about 600 NGOs/CSOs working in these districts.
The project aims at improving basic service delivery system in the seven districts with effective mobilization of NGOs through their watchdog roles, enhancing multi-stakeholder collaboration on human development efforts with active participation of CSOs in NGO friendly legal and working environment and improving governance and accountability of NGOs in the seven districts.
