Speaking at a programme in the Capital on Wednesday, he said the Cabinet and the ministry will hold separate meetings soon to decide in this regard.[break]
His comment follows an appeal of local resident of Jyamrun, Dhading, to cancel the land registered in the name of the Guthis there. It has been reported that there are thousands of ropanis of such lands registered in 2,345 Guthis’ names across the country.
At the same programme, lawmakers said preserving such lands in the name of former kings and their relatives has made a mockery of democracy.
On the occasion, lawmakers Ganga Dhar Tuladhar, Kalpana Dhamala and Nepali Congress Dhading district president Ram Nath Adhikari urged the government to dissolve those Guthis as soon as possible.
