KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Road repair work has begun at the location where the Manumati River — near Kohinoor Housing in Kathmandu — caused significant damage. The Kathmandu Metropolitan Police personnel are currently working to erect a wall along the riverbank and repair the road.

The damage occurred due to heavy rainfall from Friday night, which led to flooding in the Manumati River. The flood washed away parts of the road along the riverbank, leaving several houses nearby also at risk.

On Saturday, separate teams from the Nepal Police and the Metropolitan Police personnel placed bamboo to prevent further flooding and mitigate the damage. With the floodwaters subsiding and the situation returning to normal, repair work resumed early this morning.
