KATHMANDU, June 4: Pawan Mahto, the director of Raman Construction, was arrested in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The arrest followed a request from the Dhanusha District Police Office to the Kathmandu District Police Office.
The Dhanusha police had obtained an arrest warrant from the district court on May 19. After being taken into custody, Mahto was transferred to Dhanusha for further investigation.

Raman Construction is a major contractor involved in several large-scale road projects across Madhesh Province. According to SP Narahari Regmi of the Dhanusha District Police Office, the arrest was made based on a complaint regarding financial misconduct with a partner company.
Raman Construction and Infrastructure S&B Pvt Ltd were jointly involved in a road construction project. The dispute arose when Mahto allegedly withdrew funds from a bank guarantee without informing the partner company. Santosh Yadav filed a complaint claiming that Mahto committed fraud by misusing the joint funds.
