BIRATNAGAR, Dec 26: Tension ran high at Rani Customs in Biratnagar after a group of cadres led by Chairman of Sadhbhawana Party Rajendra Mahato, who entered Nepal from India, tried to stage sit-in at no man’s land at Nepal-India border.
Mahato, who had reached Jogbani, India to attend a function, attempted to stage sit-in at no man’s land while returning home.
Police inverted after the protesters neglected repeated requests to vacate the place.
The law enforcement agency lobbed over half a dozen shells of teargas.

Mahato sustained injuries in the incident and was rushed to India by the cadres. He received injuries in his head and different body parts and is being treated at Golden Hospital in Biratnagar.
Following intervention by Nepal Police, UDMF cadres reached India and started pelting stones at the Nepali law enforcement agency. They were dispersed by Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB), the Indian border security force.

Earlier, import was hit following rumors of obstruction by UDMF.
