KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Rainfall has continued across most parts of the country including the Kathmandu Valley with meteorologists forecasting wet conditions until at least October 6.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) said the current rains are being caused by moisture-laden monsoon winds entering Nepal from the Bay of Bengal through Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in India. Another weather system is also approaching, which could intensify rainfall in the next two days.

The DHM has further warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall tonight in several hilly and Tarai areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki, as well as in parts of the Tarai region of Lumbini Province.

The rain-bearing clouds currently extend from eastern Lumbini to Koshi Province, with the southern belt experiencing the heaviest concentration. Moderate rainfall is expected to persist particularly in areas stretching from Hetauda to Lalitpur and nearby districts.
