Quake victims battle to survive freezing winter

A family that returned to their village last month for the first time since the April earthquake and avalanche, cooking food on Monday in a makeshift shelter near where their home once stood in Langtang village of Langtang VDC, Rasuwa district. Twelve out of the over 100 displaced families have returned to the village. An avalanche triggered by the massive earthquake on April 25 had buried the entire village. At least 85 people are still unaccounted for. The 12 families are among those being provided food and shelter by the Langtang Reconstruction Committee.Nirajan Poudel/Republica
