Quake death toll reaches 8,712

KATHMANDU, June 5: The death toll from the April 25 earthquake and May 12 aftershock has reached 8,712 (3902 male and 4808 and female) as of 11:00 am on Friday morning.According to National Emergency Operation Centre, a total of 22,493 people have been injured including 10676 female and 11544 male across the country in the earthquake.

It further informed that 58 killed in eastern region, 7190 in central region, 460 in western region and two in mid-western region.

Likewise, a total of 452 injured in eastern region, 20,488 in central region, 1,242 in western region, 36 in mid-western region and two in far-western region.

The devastating quake has damaged 67,188 houses in capital, 45,930 in eastern region, 200,862 in central region, 145,326 in western region, 10,085 in mid-western region and 148 in far-western region.
