JUMLA, Aug 10: Locals, political parties and civil society leaders have launched protest program expressing dissatisfaction over political parties' decision to keep Karnali region along with far western region while creating province no. 6.

Flights have been obstructed here in Khalang-based Jumla Airport. Government offices and transport services have also been brought to stand still.

Top leaders on Staturday night had decided to federate the country into six provinces and finalized the demarcation of provincial boundaries.

Protesters have barred a helicopter that had flown from Dunai, Dolpa from landing at the airport. Privately owned airlines are not in position to resume the service to and from the airport. Protestors are trying to violate the prohibitory zones in the district.
