Police seize illegally-imported goods worth Rs 16.3 million

BIRGUNJ, Jan 27: A police squad from Parsa impounded a truck laden with illegally-imported goods worth amounting to Rs 16.3 million from Birgunj Metropolis-8. The police had taken control of the truck (Na 4 Kha 8334) en route to Butwal from Birgunj with the goods imported from India evading revenue.

BIRGUNJ, Jan 27: A police squad from Parsa impounded a truck laden with illegally-imported goods worth amounting to Rs 16.3 million from Birgunj Metropolis-8. The police had taken control of the truck (Na 4 Kha 8334) en route to Butwal from Birgunj with the goods imported from India evading revenue.


The police team also arrested the truck driver for further investigation. Spokesperson for Parsa District Police Office, DSP Om Prakash Khanal said that both the truck and the driver were handed over to the Revenue Investigation Office, Pathlaiya on Wednesday for further action.

Cameras used for tiger census missing from national park


Nine cameras that were installed for tiger count at Parsa National Park have gone missing. A total of 23 cameras were put up at the national park for the tiger census, according to the park employees. It is speculated that the cameras were stolen from the national park forest.
