Police succeeded in arresting the four alleged kidnappers from Sundhara, Kathmandu, where Dhital´s family members had reached to pay the ransom money in return for his release. Dhital´s condition, however, remains unknown.
A joint taskforce of Nepalgunj police and Crime Investigation Division, Hanumandhoka, had been tracking the communication between the family members of Dhital and the kidnappers.
The kidnappers were demanding Rs 2.5 million from the Dhital family for his release, but after a week-long bargaining, the ransom amount was settled at Rs 1.2 million. "We have arrested four kidnappers and they have admitted to the crime," said a police source, requesting anonymity. The source declined to give the details.
The source informed that police are stepping up further investigation to find the whereabouts of the hostage.
