Police arrests 17 members of underground outfit in Rukum

RUKUM, Jan 6: Nepal Police arrested 17, including two females, alleged members of a underground outfit from a hotel in district headquarters.



Those arrested on Thursday night are said to be members of Mongolian Army (Mongol National Organization Party). Rajesh Pun, who claimed to be a central committee member of the outfit, was also arrested.[break]



The arrested claimed to be holding various positions in the outfit. District president Binod Pun Magar, Jivan Kala Bista Magar his deputy, publicity department chief Navin Magar, sports department chief Khimala Gharti and cultural department chief Bhim BK were arrested, police said.



Police claimed that they were returning from the party’s meeting, and that meeting minutes and ID cards were found with them.



The Party is active in demanding rights for Mongolian people.



Three months ago, Rukum District Court had released party chairman Upendra Ghatri and two others on bail.
