KATHMANDU, Oct 31: Police arrested two people for allegedly committing robbery by brandishing a sharp weapon near Gol Dhunga Phulbari Gate, Tarkeshwor Municipality-5, Kathmandu.
According to Dan Bahadur Karki, chief of Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari, 26-year-old Suryabahadur Ghalan from Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-5, Makwanpur, currently residing in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, and 23-year-old Manoj Chaudhary from Dudhouli Municipality-10, Sindhuli, also currently residing in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, have been arrested in connection with the theft.

AIG Karki stated that last night, near Gol Dhunga Phulbari Gate, Tarkeshwor-5, while 19-year-old Shravan Tamang from Gokuleshwor Municipality-5 was sitting by the roadside with motorcycle number BA 02-050 P 1602, two people on a motorcycle with number BA 42 P 4069 showed a sharp weapon, snatched his black bag and fled away.
Police, coordinating with the victim through Balaju Police Circle, deployed a team from the temporary police post at Tinpiple. Head Constable Jiwan Budhathoki and Assistant Constable Krishnabahadur Basnet apprehended the suspects along with the stolen bag, items and the motorcycle used in the robbery based on the description given by the victim.
Police recovered from them a billbook (BA PR 02-050 P 1602), mobile charger, house key, one Rolex watch, cash of NPR 3,000, one khukuri, one Redmi mobile, one black bag labeled “Bobo,” 30 tramadol tablets and a red-black motorcycle with number BA 42 P 4069.
Karki added that the suspects are under interrogation at Balaju Police Circle and further investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
