KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya has been discharged from the hospital following his successful treatment.
Mayor Acharya, who was injured in a balloon explosion during the inauguration of the Pokhara Visit Year 2025 ceremony, was undergoing treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital.

On February 15, a hydrogen gas-filled balloon exploded when Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and Pokhara Mayor Acharya pressed an electric switch during the balloon release ceremony held at Pokhara Stadium. Paudel was discharged from the hospital two days ago.
Mayor Acharya in a social media post said that he was discharged from the hospital on Thursday afternoon. He expressed gratitude to doctors, health workers and hospital families involved in the treatment.
