POKHARA, Nov 5: In an incident of hoax, the fuel crisis-stricken public in Pokhara, who ran after a rumor and lined up in a queue since wee hours today to secure LPG gas cylinder, ended up in a wild-goose chase situation.

Since the government yesterday provided a total of 4,500 gas cylinders for the first time to the Pokhara folks since the fuel shortage started to surface in the country, those expecting consumers easily fell for a rumor that the government was distributing them the same over again.

They did not bother to verify the information properly a single time from the authentic source before making their way to the venue where the government had distributed the cylinders yesterday.

Balkrishna Koirala, Vice-President of the Gas Dealers Federation, clarified that there is no any program to distribute LPG cylinders to the consumers today in the same venue but at Bhandardhik in Lekhnath Municipality of Pokhara.

He further said that a notice had been issued for public through the local administration not to go by such rumor. RSS
