"Do your homework and tell me what is needed to be done. It will be resolved even by amending existing rules and regulations if needed, " the prime minister said at a meeting at the Ministry of Energy on Monday. [break]The prime minister currently holds energy portfolio also.
"Simply complaining and doing nothing won´t resolve the energy crisis. So be strong and work in result-oriented manner," Upadhyaya quoted the prime minister as telling the meeting.
The prime minister expressed dissatisfaction over the "snail-paced" hydropower development and asked the ministry to work actively toward ending the energy crisis.
He also instructed the ministry to work out the details of the 132 kV Kusaha-Duhabi transmission line for importing 200 MW of electricity from India.
"Make sure that the tranmission line is constructed on time and the country should be see more than 10 hours/day of power cut in winter," Upadhyay said quoting the prime minister. The prime minister also said the ministry must expedite work for constructing the line.
"It´s very difficult but the PM had stressed the need to stick to the target and work accordingly. The ministry is working to reduce power cut but it is still unsure if the transmission line can be constructed on time," added Upadhyay.
