KATHMANDU, June 22: The second meeting of the High-Level Governance Reform Commission, chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, is scheduled to take place today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
According to Joint Secretary Dr. Bhisma Kumar Bhusal, the meeting will deliberate on making public services simpler, more accessible and hassle-free. The commission, formed under the prime minister’s leadership during the cabinet meeting on April 20, held its first meeting on June 17.

The commission includes Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Law Minister Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya and Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Raj Kumar Gupta. The process to nominate two members from political parties and three experts—one of whom will be a woman—is underway.
The commission is tasked with making service delivery bodies more citizen-friendly by improving physical and human resources, streamlining procedures and technology, reducing delays in decision-making, avoiding duplication in performance, and ensuring inter-agency coordination across all government tiers.
It is also mandated to propose reforms in administrative structures, procedures, and legal frameworks to align with federalism, identify necessary improvements in governance-related laws, and enhance the civil service to be more efficient, motivated, and accountable.
