PARASI, Sept 26: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, arguing that carrying sword and spear would not resolve disputes but the talk, has urged the agitating Madhesi leaders to put forward their demands through dialogue.

Various Madhesh-centric political parties have been waging agitation in many districts across the southern plains in protest of state delineation.

PM Koirala, who arrived in Nawalparashi district on Saturday in course of his tour to take stock of the ongoing agitation, called the agitating political parties for holding a dialogue.

On the occasion, Koirala held a discussion with local political leaders, civic society representatives and human rights activities in connection to the Madhes unrest.

"The new constitution is already promulgated by the overwhelming majority with maximum consensus in the Constituent Assembly," said PM Koirala, assuring of the amendments in the national charter in need.

Stating that a majority of the agitators' demands were already addressed in the new constitution, he argued that the remaining demands could be addressed through dialogue. RSS
