PM for implementation of 5-pt deal in package

KATHMANDU, July 3: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, on Sunday, stressed on the implementation of the five point deal, signed prior to extending the Constituent Assembly tenure, in a package at a time when there have been calls for his resignation to pave way for the formation of a national consensus government.



Speaking to media persons, who had reached his official residence in Baluwatar this morning, Khanal refuted the dubbing of his government as a caretaker government, and informed that the incumbent government is a full-fledged one with due legal and constitutional validity. [break]



He further downplayed the need to go for change of guard of the government, saying that this government could still be changed into a national consensus government.



On the context of constitution writing, PM Khanal said the task would gather pace once contentious issues related to state restructuring and form of governance is settled and expressed his optimism about accomplishing the task on time.



On the occasion, PM Khanal conceded that progress in the ongoing peace process has been suffering a setback due to internal bickering within political parties.
