The state-owned oil monopoly took the decision to this effect on Monday.According to NOC officials, the decision aims to systematize the distribution of limited petrol that the government has in stock and control crowd of vehicles at fuel stations. "Though diesel has been sent to all fuel stations, petrol will be retailed through institutional pumps," Deepak Baral, NOC spokesperson, said, adding that the distribution system will change only after supply returns to normalcy.
There are altogether 11 institutional fuel stations in Kathmandu Valley run by Sajha Cooperatives, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army.
NOC started rationing fuel to consumers from Monday after India stopped supply petroleum products and other essentials citing security reasons.
