KHOTANG, Sept 17: Hundreds of passengers have been stranded as domestic flight services have been disrupted due to incessant rainfall over the past three days in Khotang.

Nepal Airlines and Tara Air have been providing services in the district. The flights have been canceled due to incessant rainfall and unfavorable weather, informed the Lamidanda station of the Nepal Airlines. [break]

The stranded passengers are facing added problems due to unavailability of the hotel rooms in the district. "The passengers have been piling up in the district due to cancellation of flights. The hotels are also all packed which is creating further problems," said Khush Narayan Sainju, chairman of Nepal Commerce and Industries, Khotang.

Lamidanda Airport is around eight hours of walk from the district headquarters Diktel. The Khanidanda Airport in Diktel has remained closed since the past few months.

The locals have been facing more problems due to power cut in the district.
