Over 1,500 dengue cases reported across Nepal

The majority of cases have been reported from Bagmati, Koshi, and Gandaki provinces. In the past week alone, 90 new cases were confirmed.

KATHMANDU, June 24: A total of 1,561 people across Nepal have been infected with dengue, a mosquito-borne viral disease, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The infection, which began to rise since the month of Poush (mid-December to mid-January), has now spread to 73 districts.


The majority of cases have been reported from Bagmati, Koshi, and Gandaki provinces. In the past week alone, 90 new cases were confirmed.

As per the latest data, Bagmati reported 383 cases, Gandaki reported 315 cases, Koshi reported 312 cases, Sudurpaschim reported 223 cases, Karnali reported 32 cases and Madhesh reported 24 cases.


Health authorities have urged the public to adopt preventive measures to control the spread of the disease.
