“You are acting smart at others´ village, aye?” an eye-witness quoted BK as saying. BK manhandled Top Bahadur after he answered in resistance. The locals intervened to diffuse the tension but BK waited in the road with khukuri to attack Top Bahadur.
“There was a minor dispute at the log-fire. But he went home and was waiting with a khukuri,” Ganesh BC, who was also attacked while returning home with Top Bahadur, said. “BK suddenly attacked us. He first stabbed Top Bahadur in the stomach and then turned toward me. I survived as the khukuri hit me on my back,” the 17-year-old added.
Top Bahadur breathed his last at around three in the morning while being rushed to Birendranagar following preliminary treatment at a local health post. He is survived by a son and wife. Ganesh is being treated at the Mid-West Regional Hospital.
Area Police Office, Babiyachaur nabbed BK Saturday morning. “I attacked after outsiders threatened me in my village. I had no previous animosity with them and stabbed them unable to bear their threat,” inspector at the office Rabin Karki quoted BK as saying. BK, 27, had returned to his village recently after working in India.
