NTB employees press govt to start CEO selection process

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Employees Union has urged the government to begin CEO selection process at the earliest.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, the officials of the union met Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ananda Prasad Pokharel on Thursday and urged him to expedite CEO election process. They also apprised Minister Pokharel of the difficulties being faced by them in the absence of CEO.

NTB has been headless since the tenure of the then CEO Prachanda Man Shrestha expired on October 31, 2011.

“Minister Pokharel assured us that he would study the issue and begin CEO selection process as early as possible,” the union said in the release.

Union's President Sudhan Subedi, Vice President Bimal Kandel, Secretary Khadga Bikram Shah, Joint Secretary Janaki Upadhyay, Treasurer Surya Thapaliya and Executive Member Lekhnath Upadhyaya were present in the delegation, according to the release.
