The meeting held today under the Co-Chair of Fund, Finance Minister Barshaman Pun reviewed the progress made so far by the Fund, the UN Peace fund for Nepal, status of emergency of the Emergency Peace Support Project funded by the World Bank and the achievements of the Technical Cooperation Pool for Capacity Development of the Ministry and the Peace and Reconstruction.
The first project worth Rs, 1076 million is related to the reconstruction of the 77 police units that were destroyed during the conflict.
Recalling the noteworthy contributions of the NPTF financed projects in the peace process, Minister Pun promised to provide sufficient fund to the NPTF in the next budget. He also expressed gratitude to the donor groups to the Fund.
Similarly, representatives from the European Union expressed commitment to continue its support to the NPTF in coming days. The EU attended the meeting in its capacity of a donor group to the Fund.
