Nine injured in Bajura jeep accident

The accident occurred at around 1:25 PM on the Kuwadi–Kyudi unpaved road section in Kyudi, Himali Rural Municipality-5, according to Nepal Police. The jeep (registration number Su.Pr.Pr. 01-001 Ja 1878) fell about 10 meters from an uphill bend.

KATHMANDU, July 20: Nine people including the driver were injured after a jeep veered off a rural road and plunged around 10 meters in Bajura district on Monday afternoon.



The accident occurred at around 1:25 PM on the Kuwadi–Kyudi unpaved road section in Kyudi, Himali Rural Municipality-5, according to Nepal Police. The jeep (registration number Su.Pr.Pr. 01-001 Ja 1878) fell about 10 meters from an uphill bend.

The injured have been identified as 25-year-old driver Janbir Budha of Natikhola, Himali Rural Municipality-2, Bajura; Dharmalal Budha (40) and Mijra Budha (31) of the same locality; Ammar Singh Budha (40), Asmita Thapa (20), Jang Singh Budha (28), Gorakh Rokaya (20), Lokendra Budha (27) and nine-year-old Susma Budha, all residents of Tajakot Rural Municipality-5 in Humla.


Police said four of the injured are in moderate condition, while the remaining five sustained minor injuries. Efforts are underway to transport all of them to hospital for treatment.
