KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Nilkaji Shakya has been elected the president of the Nepali Congress’ Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) chapter.
Shakya defeated his rival Pragatiman Ranjit to become the president of the Kathmandu Metropolis of the Nepali Congress in an election held on Sunday night.

After being elected, Shakya said that his goal was to unite the Nepali Congress scattered in the Kathmandu metropolis. He also said that his goal is to assure victory of NC during the election in all 32 wards of KMC.
He expressed happiness that the people of Nepal from east to west elected him.
