KATHMANDU, May 8: Nepal’s stock market posted strong gains on Friday, with the NEPSE index climbing 27.49 points to close at 2,745.65.
All trading sub-indices ended in positive territory, contributing to the market’s overall rise. The hydropower sector recorded the highest gain, increasing by 1.71 percent.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
Share prices of 235 companies advanced during the trading session. Trishuli Jalvidhyut Company emerged as the top gainer, with its stock price surging by 10 percent.
Meanwhile, investors in 26 companies incurred losses. Swabalamban Laghubitta saw the sharpest decline, with its share price falling by 6.54 percent.
Total market turnover stood at Rs 3.28 billion.
Hotel Forest Inn recorded the highest transaction volume of the day, with shares worth Rs 138.6 million traded. It was followed by Reliance Spinning Mills with Rs 136.4 million and Solu Hydropower with Rs 120 million worth of shares traded.
