KATHMANDU, April 10: Nepal sent around 27 tons of relief materials to Myanmar as humanitarian aid. A 16-member team, including senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and journalists, are currently in Myanmar to deliver the aid.
The aid package contains a list of items as requested by Myanmar following Nepal’s request, including medicines and food supplies.

According to Tapas Adhikari, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and head of the South East Asia and the Pacific (SEAP) Division, the team hand over the relief materials to representatives of the Myanmar government Thursday morning. The assistance includes contributions from both the government and the private sector.
Myanmar was struck by a powerful earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale last Friday, killing over 3,000 people.
A team of medical personnel from the Nepal Army also remains currently deployed in Myanmar to assist Myanmar as the country attempts post disaster rehabilitation and recovery.
