Nepali doctors awarded with prestigious gold medal of Bangladesh

KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Two Nepalese doctors have won prestigious gold medal of Bangladesh.



Dr. Ananta Shrestha and Dr. Pramila Shakya, who completed post graduate studies from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka, have been awarded with the prestigious Prime Minister Gold Medal-2010.[break]



The medals were awarded by Sheikh Hasina Wazed, Prime Minister of Bangladesh in a special ceremony held at the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday.



According to Nepali Embassy at Dhaka, Dr. Shrestha, who excelled in M.D examination in the Department of Hepatology, Faculty of Medicine, is currently associated with Civil Services Hospital, Kathmandu.



Similarly, Dr. Shakya received the award for her outstanding performance in the M.D. examination at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She is working at Kathmandu Model Hospital.



The medal is awarded to the outstanding students securing highest marks/grades in the Bachelors (Hons) Examination in each faculty of each of the public universities of Bangladesh.
