KATHMANDU, Sept 23: The Sports Editor of Nagarik daily and immediate past president of Nepal Sports Journalist Federation, Ajay Phuyal has been awarded a gold medal by the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Asia.
AIPS Asia had organized a program marking the First Asian Sports Press Day at Ashgabat, Turkmenistan where Phuyal was honored.

“I want to thank AIPS Asia for recognizing me as an outstadning sports journalist in Asia,” said Phuyal, “More than a personal achievement, I have taken this as an honor to the entire Nepali sports Journalism.”
Phuyal who started his career as a sports journalist in 2000, has been associated with Nagarik daily, a sister publication of Republica daily, since 2008 as the Sports Editor.
