Photo Walk began two years ago with a mission to save the culture of Nepalgunj and document its beauty. And to do so, these youths dedicate their time from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm every Saturday.

The group has amateur photographer like Anmol Ratan Gupta to professional photographers like Bishal Rana Magar, Niraj Karki and others to guide the participants. Rana Magar said, “We also provide a camera to those who are interested in photography but don’t own one. And we believe that you don’t necessarily need to own a camera in order to learn photography. But must have the curiosity, and interest is the key factor to be a good photographer.”

The photo campaign has turned out to be a platform for youngsters who aspire to become professional photographers in future.

Where there is will there is a way. Bhim Sarki, one of the participants of Photo Walk, uses mobile to click photographs. Another participant Alvin Karki believes that a photo can speak for itself and this campaign has helped youth engage in productive activities.

Similarly, 21-year-old Kabir Ansari has been with the group since its inception and is currently involved in professional photography. He aims to become a photo journalist. He said, “Being a part of campaign, my senior brothers here have helped me gain theoretical as well as practical knowledge of photography.”
