The tournament, scheduled from 26 November to 2 December, will see Nepal face host nation Indonesia and Chinese Taipei. Star forward Sabitri Bhandari (Samba) and midfielder Savita Rana Magar will miss the event due to injuries.
General Secretary Rai expressed optimism about the team’s recent progress: “We shifted women’s football to a club-based structure, and now we have ten strong teams. Our latest international outings show that we are capable of achieving excellent results.”
Head coach Naveen Neupane acknowledged the setback of losing Samba to injury but highlighted the opportunity it provides for other players to showcase their talent against strong opposition. Captain Subba added that such tournaments are crucial in helping the squad grow and gain valuable experience.
