The match between Nepal and PNG will be played at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi, in the UAE.
Before the championship, Nepal played four matches, three 50-overs and a two-day match.
Nepal played a draw against Hong Kong in a two-day match before losing to Pakistan by 121 runs in a 50-over match. Similarly, Nepal beat local cricket club Danube Lions by 14 runs and faced three-wicket defeat against Oman in 50-over matches.
The second match between Nepal and PNG will be played on Wednesday.
Nepal and PNG are yet to get points as both the teams lost their matches in the first round.
Previously, Nepal lost its both matches against Scotland in the first round of the championship. Nepal lost its opener by three runs and faced nine-wicket defeat held in July in Scotland.
Likewise, PNG lost its opener by five wickets and second match by 85 runs against the Netherlands in last June.
The Netherlands, Scotland, Kenya, Hong Kong, the UAE, Namibia, Nepal and PNG are in the championship. All teams will play two matches against every team and the top six teams will play the 2019 ICC World Cup Qualifiers.
Currently the Netherlands is leading the table despite having equally six points to Scotland (second) and Kenya (third) on the basis of net run rate from four matches.
Similarly, Hong Kong (fourth), the UAE (fifth) and Namibia (sixth) have two points each. Nepal (seventh) and PNG (eighth) are yet to get points.
