BHAKTAPUR, Aug 1: CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal said Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai should be ousted from his post, launching a massive protest as he is unwilling to give up premiership voluntarily to pave way for a national consensus government.

The former prime minister said this while speaking at an interaction program organized by Rafat Sanchar Club in Bhaktapur on Wednesday. He also said Bhattarai´s desire to run the country through ordinances will be counter-productive to both the government and the country. [break]

He also criticized UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and PM Bhattarai for trying to impose dictatorship on the country.  He further expressed his party´s willingness to lead the consensus government should the Nepali Congress fail to come up with a candidate for the post.

Accusing Bhattarai of taking unconstitutional steps, he warned that the oppositions would not sit back but would sprint into action against the government. He also opined that the Maoist party can still save its face if the PM resigns from the post immediately.

Addressing the same program, Mahesh Basnet, chairman of the Youth Association Nepal, a youth wing affiliated to UML said  an avalanche of protest should be carried out to unseat the PM.
