KATHMANDU, 1 Dec: Nepal Police collected more than Rs 248.5 million in revenue through various enforcement actions during Kartik (mid-October to mid-November) of the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26.
The revenue was generated from ten types of operations, including the seizure of illegal goods, enforcement of court orders, traffic fines, unaccounted funds, confiscation of illegal gold and silver, hundi operations, and riverbed extraction.
71,000 people went abroad in Kartik alone
The highest revenue, Rs 108.4 million (43.62%), came from seized illegal goods. Revenue from enforcing court orders amounted to Rs 69.6 million (28.04%), while traffic fines contributed Rs 49.7 million (20.02%). Unaccounted funds generated Rs 13.5 million (5.47%), and seized illegal gold and silver brought in Rs 2.497 million (1.41%).
Other collections included Rs 107,000 from illegal currency, Rs 1.356 million from controlling illegal livestock, Rs 1.003 million from illegal timber, and Rs 1.14 million from riverbed extraction.
The police conducted these operations under special enforcement plans and carried out nationwide campaigns to curb illegal activities.
