Nepal Police launches nation-wide ‘Community-Police Partnership’ campaign

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: Amid growing incidents of rape and other types of violence, Nepal Police has launched a nation-wide ‘Community-Police Partnership’ campaign, on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: Amid growing incidents of rape and other types of violence, Nepal Police has launched a nation-wide ‘Community-Police Partnership’ campaign, on Sunday.


Spokesperson of the Nepal Police, Uttamraj Subedi, told Republica Online that the campaign is aimed at maintaining law and order across the country by curbing all kinds of social evils.

“Nepal Police will launch various programs including public awareness campaigns at the federal, provincial, district and ward levels aiming at curbing violence against women, sexual violence, human trafficking, drug trafficking, cybercrime, environment pollution among others,” Spokesperson Subedi said.


Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa inaugurated the campaign amid a function at Bhrikutimandap in the capital.


The program was attended by Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Bidhya Sundar Shakya, Inspector General of Police Sarbendra Khanal and high-ranking police officials.


The campaign will be launched at the federal, provincial to local levels in partnership with the private sector, schools, and social organizations, according to Subedi.
