The Nepal Police has also urged the ministry to take action against those officers.
At a time when the government is mulling to amend some provisions in the APF regulations amid differing views over whether or not the APF should be mandated to issue arrest warrant, the new development has further soured the relations between two the institutions.According to a source at the ministry of Home Affairs, Nepal Police on Monday has demanded action against more than 10 APF officials, including the AIGs, DIGs and DSPs for posting indecent views on APF's official Facebook page and Twitter.
A highly placed Nepal Police official said posting of such views is against professional ethics.
According to the ministry source, Home Secretary Surya Prasad Silwal has instructed the respective department to seek clarification from APF IGP Kosh Raj Onta on the issue.
Security experts have suggested to the government not to authorize APF to issue arrest warrants as it would be against international practice and contradict the democratic norms.
