According to the company, the new version is longer by 90 mm, wider by 5 mm, has 28 mm more foot space for rear seats and 20 mm additional knee room and 40 mm larger wheelbase as compared to the existing version of the Swift. The car weighs 30 kg less than the previous model as the metal fuel tank has been replaced with a plastic fuel tank.
“The new car has a revamped exterior and interior appeal and has various captivating features which will attract the Nepali customers,” said Uttam Gupta, senior sales manager at Arun Intercontinental. He added that as the existing version of the Swift is one of the most sought after cars in Nepal, the upgraded version will certainly be a hit.
The new car will be competing with the Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, Ford Figo, Honda Brio and Chevrolet Beat in the domestic market.

The face lifted version of the Swift´s petrol model is equipped with a 1.2 L, K series engine. The car can produce a maximum power output of 87 PS at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 114 Nm at 4,000 rpm. For deriving greater performance, the car´s engine is fitted with the Multi-Point Fuel Injection (MPFI) supply system.
The car has a sporty and aggressive appeal with sleek and curvier body graphics, body colored door handles and side indicators on the outdoor rear view mirror (ORVM) to further enhanced the look of the machine.
For comfort and safety, the machine boasts of features like power steering, power window, airbags, electronic brake force distribution and even brake assist system. It also features Antilock Braking System (ABS) and SRS airbags.
According to Arun Intercontinental, the Maruti Suzuki Swift VXI is likely to cost Rs 2.4 to Rs 2.5 million, while the ZXI will cost Rs 2.67 million approximately. The new Swift will be available in 5 colors: silky silver, glycerin grey, turquoise blue, arctic white and blazing red.
